Description

Since 2013, the Herbert Worch Foundation has been specifically supporting applied clinical research projects in geriatric medicine, thereby focusing on improving the care of elderly patients. In close cooperation with universities, research institutions, and hospitals in Bonn, innovative projects are funded that address both preventive and therapeutic issues. As a grant provider in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the foundation exclusively targets non-profit educational institutions and public organizations that develop and evaluate new treatment strategies, diagnostic methods, or care models in multidisciplinary teams. By concentrating on practical relevance, findings are quickly integrated into clinical processes, directly benefiting patients and strengthening the scientific excellence of the region.

Eligible for funding are clinical research teams and institutions based in Bonn or collaborating with Bonn-based entities. Applications can be submitted at any time and are entirely structured on a non-profit basis. A prerequisite for funding is proof of cooperation with at least one Bonn institution or hospital. The funding purpose includes covering personnel costs as well as providing materials or financing specific study services. Through this uncomplicated, permanent funding opportunity, researchers and clinicians receive flexible support to implement pioneering projects in geriatrics, gerontology, and related disciplines. Applications may be submitted continuously, enabling timely decisions and prompt project initiation.
