Description
The AKB Foundation continuously supports future-oriented projects in Lower Saxony that align with the foundation’s purposes of church, art and culture, education, science, as well as environmental and nature conservation. With the aim of creating sustainable impulses, initiatives in the fields of culture & media, vocational training and further education, research & innovation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection are funded through grants. Submissions are possible at any time and are generally evaluated quarterly by the board. Upon positive resolution, applicants receive a funding commitment, followed by the disbursement of funds and subsequent grant confirmation. At the end of the project, a final report including a substantive assessment of the achievements as well as a tabular overview of all income and expenses must be submitted – interim reports may be requested for long-term projects.
Eligible for funding are associations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, companies, interest groups, and private individuals who wish to implement their projects in the aforementioned thematic areas. An application comprises between four and ten DIN A4 pages and includes an informal cover letter, a brief description (maximum half a page), a detailed project description with background, objectives, and timeline, as well as a clear financial plan. Additionally, a primary contact person must be named. For accounting purposes, an account of a registered organization is recommended; original receipts are not required. All documents can be submitted collectively via email or post. With this flexible funding opportunity, the AKB Foundation supports creative and scientific initiatives as well as environmentally conscious and socially relevant projects with a commitment to sustainability and innovation.
