Description

The funding provided by the An Deiner Seite – Gerhard and Gertrud Schmieder Foundation is aimed nationwide at non-profit organizations, public institutions, interest groups, and associations that are committed to young caregivers (Young Carers). Within the framework of ongoing grant programs, projects and measures are supported that specifically focus on education, counseling, and raising awareness. This includes coaching offerings that can be delivered both in person and via digital channels, as well as leisure activities and breaks where participants can exchange experiences and recharge. A central area of support also lies in strengthening existing initiatives through networking and the exchange of best practices—with the goal of providing young caregivers with a comprehensive overview of available support services.

The program pursues the overarching goal of sustainably improving the living conditions of young caregivers: it aims to increase public awareness of their interests, open up positive life perspectives, and promote personal development. Individual coaching sessions highlight solutions and offer support in challenging everyday situations. Breaks in the form of camps or recovery weekends provide space for self-reflection, strengthen self-confidence, and enable new impulses for the further life path. Applications can be submitted at any time, with the foundation placing special emphasis on innovative and needs-oriented concepts that contribute to the relief and networking of young carers.
