Description
Since December 2023, the funding program of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia has supported the training of family caregivers through monthly flat rates in state-recognized specialist seminars. Seminar providers receive a funding amount of €380 per full-time trainee (proportionally for part-time) to attract and retain qualified professionals for home care. The Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia grants this subsidy voluntarily with the aim of sustainably strengthening the standard of family care in the region.
Eligible for funding are public institutions, interest groups, or other associations based in North Rhine-Westphalia that offer specialist seminars without tuition fees and do not finance other training services through different regulations. The course size is limited to a maximum of 28 trainees, with no more than 25 state-funded places per course. Practical training must take place within North Rhine-Westphalia. Applications must be submitted to the responsible district government by November 1 of the year preceding the start of training for courses in the first half of the year, and by June 1 of the current year for the second half of the year. The official forms – application, annex 1a, annex 1b (proof of expenditure), and proof of expenditure – must be attached to the application.
