Description

The European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) specifically supports small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups, as well as self-employed and freelance professionals in Saxony-Anhalt in qualifying their employees. Funding is provided for external seminars, in-house training conducted by external experts, individual and group coaching (up to 15 hours per person per year), state-approved distance learning courses, and e-learning formats. The aim is to enhance qualifications, employability, and participation in ecological and digital transformation processes. Priority beneficiaries include trainees, low-skilled workers, older employees, and people with disabilities, as well as employees with a migration background. Measures must be additional to mandatory training content and must be applied for prior to the start of the measure.

Funding is granted as a subsidy amounting to 60% of eligible expenses for companies with up to ten employees, 50% for up to 249 employees, and 40% for 250 or more employees; with collective bargaining agreements, the funding rate can increase by up to 20%. Recognized costs include participation and examination fees, fees for external instructors, travel and accommodation expenses, additional childcare costs, as well as expenses for examination pieces and final theses. The total funding amount per project is up to 100,000 euros. Applications can be submitted continuously via the IB customer portal; required documents include, among others, a de minimis declaration, offer comparisons, and evidence of the qualification concept and participants. Evaluation is based on cost-effectiveness, relevance to employability, transformation relevance, concept quality, and target group specificity. Companies seeking to expand their skilled workforce through modern qualification offerings will find effective support here.
