The Bürger-Stiftung Stormarn supports community-oriented projects in the Stormarn district with its continuously available grant. Initiatives in the areas of education, culture, civic engagement, social affairs, as well as vocational training and further education are funded. The goal is to sustainably strengthen the community and enable self-help on site. Under the foundation’s umbrella, non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and public institutions come together, all of which wish to contribute voluntarily or with professional commitment to a vibrant, solidaristic region. The range extends from reading mentor programs to climate education and senior companionship, as well as cultural encounters such as the “Blumendorfer Begegnungen” and diverse school projects.

Eligible for funding are non-profit associations, organizations, and public institutions with headquarters or demonstrable impact in the Stormarn district. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no fixed deadline. A prerequisite for approval is that the project serves the common good in Stormarn and its impact is clearly located within the district. Project descriptions can be submitted without bureaucratic hurdles; the evaluation is based on regional needs and the contribution to strengthening social cohesion. The possibility of continuous application allows initiators to receive financial support for their projects flexibly and promptly. This funding offer is aimed at all those who wish to enrich the cultural, social, and democratic life in Stormarn with their ideas and commitment.
