Description
The Charlotte and Heinz Wiezorek Foundation is committed nationwide to supporting orphans and half-orphans from the fifth grade until the completion of their 27th year of life. The focus is on ensuring an adequate livelihood as well as the financial security of vocational training, further education, or study costs. Monthly contributions of up to €525 as well as school, semester, and training fees are funded. In addition, grants are provided for teaching materials such as books and office supplies, as well as offers for leisure and holiday activities. Support is tiered according to age, type of training, and duration of funding; special benefits above the average can increase the individual funding amount. The allocation of funds is made as a grant to enable needy young people, after the loss of one or both parents, to continue their educational path without existential worries and to look to the future with confidence.
A prerequisite for funding is proof of the death of one or both parents, the current school, vocational, or study status, residence in Germany, as well as income and assets below the SGB II/XII thresholds. The decision is made by the foundation’s advisory board based on the degree of need, duration of training, and individual abilities. An application form, personal information, proof of income, assets, and educational status, as well as information on special abilities and future plans, are required. Since applications can be submitted at any time, the foundation offers continuous funding opportunities without fixed deadlines. Processing is confidential and independent of annual or selection rounds.
