The Damp Foundation is committed in Northern Germany to promoting medical research and education, social initiatives, as well as the training of medical professionals. The focus is on projects in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania that have a connection to former locations of the Damp Group. Funding is provided primarily for initiatives in the fields of research & innovation, science, health, social affairs, and education and training. Applications are generally granted as subsidies throughout the year. However, from 2024 onwards, applications will only be considered in exceptional cases; the funding period is scheduled to end at the close of 2025. Grants are awarded in accordance with the statutes and funding guidelines, which transparently regulate the allocation criteria.
Those primarily targeted are scientists at universities and research institutions, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, as well as students and young professionals in the medical field. A prerequisite is an activity or location within the three federal states. Eligible for funding are educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and public institutions. The foundation focuses on sustainable impact by supporting innovative research approaches, practice-oriented teaching projects, and social initiatives with a regional connection. The continuous submission option allows for flexible project planning, while the selection process pays special attention to outstanding proposals. In this way, the Damp Foundation makes an important contribution to strengthening healthcare provision and the development of skilled professionals in Northern Germany.
