Funding of the Dixie-Dörner Foundation

The Dixie-Dörner Foundation is committed to sustainable support for charitable projects in Dresden, primarily promoting initiatives in the field of children's and youth football. In addition to the focus on sports, the funding also provides valuable impulses in the areas of education, social affairs, children and youth, vocational training & further education, as well as culture & media. Through the awarding of grants, innovative and socially integrative projects are to be advanced, in which educational and social offerings play a significant role alongside football activities. Special attention is given to the cohesion and development of young people, aiming to open up not only sporting but also personal perspectives for them. The funding measure aims to strengthen engagement in the region and support the sporting as well as social youth, thereby achieving long-term positive effects within the Dresden community.

The funding is directed at tax-privileged organizations, public law corporations, and other charitable institutions active in the regional context of Dresden. Eligible projects are those with a clear connection to the thematic areas of education, children and youth, social affairs, sport, and physical activity. Although the focus is on children's and youth football, funding for projects with impacts beyond Dresden and its surrounding area is possible in justified exceptional cases. The continuously offered funding opportunity provides organizations with ongoing chances to implement binding social and sporting initiatives. Through this targeted support, not only is the memory of Hans-Jürgen “Dixie” Dörner, a significant figure in German football, honored, but also a sustainable foundation for promoting youth, sport, and social cohesion is established.
