Description
Since 1990, the Edgar Michael Wenz Foundation in Bavaria has supported research and teaching at the Faculty of Law of the University of Würzburg in the fields of sociology of law, legal theory, and philosophy of law, as well as their interdisciplinary connections. Scholars, lecturers, and students benefit from this support, which not only fosters academic exchange in the "Würzburg Lectures on Philosophy of Law, Legal Theory, and Sociology of Law," but also provides lasting impetus through publications in over 50 volumes to date. Furthermore, innovative research concepts are promoted to deepen the understanding of societal developments at the intersection of law and social structure.
The program continuously grants subsidies to non-profit public and educational institutions for technical equipment, library costs, and event expenses. With regard to modern scientific infrastructure, for example, digital research systems, specialized literature, or conference organization can be financed. The ongoing application possibility offers flexibility in project planning and does not require fixed deadlines. The aim is to sustainably support excellent research projects and strengthen interdisciplinary networking at the Faculty of Law. Interested institutions in the Free State of Bavaria may submit their funding applications at any time and thus actively contribute to the professional discourse.
