Description

Since 1996, the Edith-Fröhnert Foundation has supported forward-looking initiatives in Lübeck to promote children, adolescents, and young adults up to 27 years of age. Funding is provided to non-profit organizations, public institutions, as well as individuals who implement projects in the fields of youth welfare, education, culture, sports, healthcare, and social welfare. Furthermore, the foundation grants charitable aid and scholarships for needy trainees, pupils, and students. As a grant provider, projects and undertakings with an investment volume of up to €10,000 are supported. A prerequisite is a registered office or residence in Lübeck, on-site project implementation, and proof of non-profit status through a current exemption notice. Personnel cost subsidies are not eligible expenses.

For a complete application, detailed documents must be submitted: a concise project description, investment and financing plan, current cash report or balance sheet, excerpt from the register of associations, as well as the exemption notice. Individuals must additionally provide justifications of need, medical certificates, income proofs, and, if applicable, copies of disability ID cards. Applications must be submitted in paper form before the start of measures and comply with the submission deadlines for board meetings published on the website. The decision lies with a board committee, which, after reviewing completeness and purpose binding, issues a written funding commitment. By awarding to local providers, the foundation simultaneously promotes the local economy and ensures that funded projects are sustainably anchored in Lübeck.
