Description

The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania promotes the establishment and further development of a comprehensive advisory and support network for victims of domestic and sexualized violence, as well as for individuals affected by human trafficking for sexual exploitation or forced marriage, through a grant program. Women's shelters, advisory and intervention centers for domestic violence and stalking, as well as specialized counseling centers for human trafficking, are eligible to apply for funding. Both personnel expenses (up to €28,386 per full-time position) and material costs are funded; intervention centers may receive funding for up to three full-time positions up to pay grade 10 TV-L. The goal is to establish a specialized network with qualified professionals that reaches affected individuals throughout all regions of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Eligible applicants are public institutions and non-profit organizations based in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with services offered locally, whose concept has been approved by the responsible ministry. Personnel must be state-recognized social pedagogues/social workers or experienced professionals; in intervention centers, lawyers may also be employed; men's and violence counseling centers require an additional qualification as violence counselors. Women's shelters must provide at least twelve places, specialized counseling centers for human trafficking must have a safe apartment, and intervention centers must be ministerially recognized. Municipal co-financing is required for certain institutions. Applications, including the concept, financing plan, as well as organizational and staffing plans, must be submitted before the conclusion of employment contracts or continuously by August 31 of a given year for the following year. This funding offer strengthens the support network and helps ensure tailored assistance for those affected.
