Description
The federal program for promoting energy efficiency and CO₂ reduction in agriculture and horticulture supports small and medium-sized enterprises in the agricultural and horticultural sectors in modernizing to climate-friendly technologies. Funding is provided for investments in energy-efficient systems, automated barn technology, optimized irrigation systems, as well as on-site renewable energy generation. As a nationwide open grant, the program targets businesses of all legal forms and sizes that aim to reduce their energy consumption while simultaneously lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Funding is provided continuously, allowing for flexible scheduling of planned measures without deadline pressure. The implementing agency for these measures is the Agency for Renewable Resources (Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e.V., FNR), which handles application processing and support on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Homeland (BMLEH).
The funding offer aims not only to unlock energy-saving potentials but also to strengthen the competitiveness and future viability of agricultural and horticultural enterprises. By implementing innovative, CO₂-reducing technologies, companies can sustainably lower their operating costs while making a valuable contribution to climate protection. The FNR also provides professional support and consulting during project implementation to ensure technical and economic sustainability. Interested companies can find all relevant guideline information as well as further documents for application and accounting in the funding database. This program offers an attractive opportunity to align agricultural operations with future security and environmental compatibility.
