Description
The Ernst Kirchner Foundation supports initiatives in North Rhine-Westphalia that sustainably promote the well-being of people with mental illnesses. In particular, leisure activities, communal events, as well as excursions and holiday programs for patients of the LWL Clinic Münster, residents of the LWL residential community, and the LWL care center Münster are funded. These may include cultural, sporting, or creative projects that enrich everyday life and create moments of joy. The ongoing awarding of grants is aimed at public institutions committed to innovative and needs-based concepts.
For an application, a written request by the management of the respective LWL facility is required. This should include a detailed project description, precise objectives, and a transparent presentation of costs and financing. Decisions on funding applications are made at the Foundation’s discretion, with a focus on professional quality and the potential impact on the participants’ quality of life. Legal recourse is excluded. Through targeted support of individual and group-related measures, a social network is strengthened that contributes in the long term to the resilience and joy of life of people with mental illnesses.
