Description

The EWE Foundation supports non-profit initiatives in the rural regions of Ems-Weser-Elbe (Lower Saxony), Brandenburg, and Rügen through a year-round sponsorship program. Projects are funded in the areas of education and upbringing, arts and culture, science and research, as well as nature, environmental and climate protection including energy efficiency and animal welfare. Priority is given to initiatives that address socially relevant issues and contribute to strengthening rural areas. Applications for small projects up to €9,999 are generally decided every two months, while applications from €10,000 are reviewed in joint meetings of the Foundation Council and the Executive Board. Submission is exclusively via the online form, ensuring a simple and transparent processing.

Eligible for funding are tax-privileged organizations, educational institutions, foundations, and public institutions located within the Foundation’s service area. A prerequisite is proof of tax exemption for at least one of the specified funding purposes or status as a legal entity under public law. The selection criteria emphasize clear project objectives, sustainability, and regional added value. Regardless of origin, age, or gender, initiators can submit their projects digitally at any time; early commencement of the measure is excluded. Through continuous funding opportunities, the Foundation creates space for innovative approaches and long-term partnerships in Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Lower Saxony.
