Description
Since its founding in 1995, the Gerlinde Beck Foundation has been supporting emerging visual artists throughout Germany. Young artists and students of fine arts as well as enthusiastic and active researchers in art history receive scholarships, support for academic work, and temporary studio spaces. In addition, the foundation grants subsidies for production costs of artistic works – especially sculptures. The aim is to make the founder’s work accessible to the public and to promote a sustainable understanding of visual creation. Selection for funding is based on the quality and relevance of the submitted artistic project concepts, the scholarly content of art historical works, as well as the demonstrated need for studio space or production grants.
Applications can be submitted continuously; a study or research project in the field of fine arts or art history must be demonstrated. Eligible for funding are individuals and educational institutions that can document artistic or academic activity. Required documents include a meaningful project description, a curriculum vitae, proof of artistic/academic qualification, and a detailed cost breakdown. Expenses for scholarship costs, studio rent, and production costs as well as expenditures for art historical investigations are funded. The Gerlinde Beck Foundation thus supports ambitious talents and scholars who prepare exhibitions or symposia, enrich the artistic heritage, and seek to realize visionary projects.
