Description

The Goldberg Foundation supports nonprofit organizations nationwide as well as private individuals in the realization of ambitious cultural and musical projects with a focus on the Renaissance of the 15th century. Funding is provided for both new formations and further developments of ensembles, as well as innovative concert formats based on the principle of “Slow Listening”. In addition, edition and digitization projects that make historical sources accessible and thus contribute sustainably to the research and dissemination of early music can be submitted. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, ensuring timely planning and implementation of artistic initiatives.

Interested projects benefit from financial start-up support specifically tailored to the unique challenges in the field of Renaissance music. Funding is available for professional as well as semi-professional musicians, ensembles, and project initiators who focus on the multifaceted repertoire of the 15th century. Scholars and institutions advancing edition and digitization efforts, thereby laying the groundwork for future research projects, are equally welcome. Through the combination of artistic support and a scientific e-foundry, the foundation offers a unique platform to keep musical traditions alive and to sustainably anchor interdisciplinary projects.
