Funding of the Gusti Steiner Foundation

The Gusti Steiner Foundation supports projects and initiatives in North Rhine-Westphalia that promote the participation of people with disabilities in all areas of life. As a non-profit organization, it continuously awards grants to private individuals, companies, public institutions, and non-profit organizations. The guiding principle is "Enabling participation – Supporting participation." Funded are initiatives in the fields of social affairs, health, as well as work & social services that contribute to social inclusion and dismantle barriers. The foundation aims to provide people with disabilities equal opportunities for participation in everyday life and public life.

Interested parties submit their project in the form of a cover letter or project description via the foundation’s provided contact form. Applications can be submitted at any time, as there are no fixed deadlines. The decision on funding is based on the substantive characteristics of the project and its contribution to strengthening inclusive structures. Particular value is placed on the sustainable impact on the interaction between people with and without disabilities. The Gusti Steiner Foundation thus supports a wide range of initiatives – from educational offerings to therapy and counseling projects to innovative employment models – that make the lives of people with disabilities more self-determined and barrier-free.
