Description

The Foundation for the Promotion of Ecological Forestry and Forest Conservation (Gute Waldstiftung) is committed nationwide to pioneering projects in the field of forest ecology. Its goal is to support initiatives that strengthen ecological forestry, implement forest conservation measures, and promote biodiversity. Furthermore, projects in forest education and nature education are funded to embed awareness of the importance of sustainable forestry from the earliest stages of education. Funding is provided in the form of grants and is based on relevance and sustainability aspects, ensuring that each measure makes a tangible contribution to the preservation of vital forest ecosystems. Applications can be submitted at any time to the Chairperson of the Board, allowing for flexible planning and implementation of projects.

Only non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and public bodies with a clear project focus on ecological forestry or forest conservation are eligible for funding. A detailed project description as well as a cost and financing plan are required for the application. Evaluation is based on the substantive significance for ecological forest protection and the long-term sustainability of the planned measures. Submissions are reviewed continuously, enabling a prompt decision on approval or rejection of funding. This open procedure offers environmental organizations and educational stakeholders the opportunity to implement their concepts promptly and contribute to strengthening sustainable forest use in Germany.
