Description
The Hanna and Carl Siefkes Foundation supports fiscally non-profit organizations and public institutions in Lower Saxony that are dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historic monument organs in Evangelical Lutheran churches of East Frisia. Eligible costs include all expenses for renovation measures, material resources, and professional services of organ inspectors, provided the project has not yet commenced in accordance with the foundation’s statutes. Furthermore, grants are allocated to measures for the training and promotion of young organists to keep the artistic tradition alive. The foundation awards funding as a non-repayable grant covering up to 100% of eligible expenses and decides on applications in semi-annual board meetings.
Applicants are Evangelical Lutheran congregations in East Frisia as well as specialists in the field of organ restoration and training. Submission requires a detailed project description and a clear financial plan, supplemented by a proof of use upon disbursement. Funding decisions are based on the availability of foundation funds as well as compliance with the statutes and the board’s due discretion. Applications can be submitted continuously; deadlines correspond to the semi-annual meetings. The purpose of the grant is to permanently secure the acoustic and cultural value of listed organs and to optimally support future generations of organists.
