Description
The Harald Striewski Foundation continuously supports charitable, benevolent, and church-related projects in Schleswig-Holstein. The focus is on initiatives in the areas of education and public enlightenment, vocational training, monument preservation, sports, as well as the support of economically disadvantaged individuals, particularly children and young people in the postal code areas 24787 Fockbek, 24809 Nübbel, and 24813 Schülp. Grants may be awarded as financial and in-kind contributions, scholarships, or for the restoration of listed buildings. Eligible applicants include non-profit associations, public institutions, church organizations, and private individuals with appropriate proof of need in accordance with § 53 AO. The project duration is set at twelve months; retroactive funding is excluded.
Before the start of the measure, interested parties must submit an informal application using the forms provided by the foundation and attach the following documents: current exemption notice for non-profit organizations, proof of need (§ 53 AO) for natural persons, and—for monument preservation projects—approvals from the Office for Monument Preservation and, if applicable, a building permit. Decisions on grants up to €10,000 are made by the board; for amounts above this, the foundation commits for a maximum of two years and decides via the advisory board. Unused funds will expire, and a usage report must be submitted upon completion. Through this transparent allocation practice, the Harald Striewski Foundation makes a sustainable contribution to the promotion of education, culture, infrastructure, and social participation in the region.
