Description

The Heinrich-Dammann Foundation supports participatory youth projects in Lower Saxony for young people aged 12 to 27. The focus is on initiatives that network youth work providers and promote forward-looking offerings in rural areas – particularly in the fields of education, sports, arts & culture, as well as Protestant youth work. Funding is provided as a grant and requires a clear networking effect as well as a high level of youth participation. Excluded are projects that have already started before the application, construction measures, infrastructure, material or software acquisitions, as well as leisure and confirmation trips. Based on the evaluation criteria of participation level, networking effect, and contribution to rural youth work, the foundation selects three dates annually for application review.

Non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and public institutions can submit their concepts via an online form. Required are a detailed project concept, a cost and financing plan, and proof of non-profit status. Funding decisions are made three times a year in meetings on January 8, May 18, and October 8; projects may start no earlier than after the respective board meeting. Through its consistent focus on youth participation and rural networking, the regular funding of the Heinrich-Dammann Foundation makes a sustainable contribution to strengthening joint youth work in Lower Saxony.
