Description
The HERMANN REEMTSMA FOUNDATION offers non-profit organizations and public institutions an attractive opportunity for financial support of demanding projects in the fields of culture and social affairs. In particular, initiatives in monument preservation, restoration, and cultural heritage conservation are funded, as well as projects dealing with welfare initiatives, the empowerment of women, support for homelessness assistance, or hospice work. Depending on the project size, the grant can amount to up to €1,000,000, thus enabling the implementation of innovative ideas that create sustainable added value for society. The foundation places special emphasis on a meaningful, complete project application that convinces through entrepreneurial thinking, committed and professional involvement of the project participants, as well as a clearly defined own contribution.
The application process is ongoing with two annual review periods, whereby applications for the May review period must be submitted in writing to the office by March 1, and for the November review period by September 1. Only projects that fit within the defined funding areas of culture and social affairs are eligible. A comprehensive application package, which includes, among other things, a cover letter, a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, a schedule and action plan, as well as meaningful visual material, forms the basis for evaluation. Project commitment, professional competence, and the demonstrable own contribution of the involved persons are recognized as central criteria.
Particular attention is paid to the sustainability and long-term impact of the funded initiatives. Projects that promote the preservation of cultural heritage through their initiatives or contribute to social justice and inclusion receive special consideration. The funding extends across various regions, including Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, and Thuringia. Through this transparently structured support, the foundation makes a significant contribution to strengthening social cohesion and creating sustainable infrastructures. The ongoing funding encourages institutions to engage with innovative, forward-looking ideas and to set a sustainable impetus for cultural and social developments.
