Support for Aid to Sick Children – The Foundation at the University Children's Hospital Tübingen

The "Help for Sick Children" Foundation at the University Children's Hospital Tübingen has been specifically supporting therapeutic and psychosocial services for seriously ill children, adolescents, and their families for over 25 years. Regardless of the type of illness, both medical equipment and personnel project positions are funded to ensure child- and family-centered care in the hospital and follow-up care. Completed projects include modern playrooms on the wards, specialized emergency simulation training for staff, as well as counseling and relaxation offerings such as Therapeutic Touch massages and comic drawing workshops. All measures aim to make everyday hospital life as humane and supportive as possible and to accompany the entire family during and after the hospital stay.

Public institutions, non-profit organizations, private individuals, and companies from Baden-Württemberg can submit funding applications at any time to realize purchases and measures that directly benefit the young patients and their relatives. Grants are awarded flexibly—whether for the purchase of state-of-the-art medical technology, the establishment of parent kitchens and nursing rooms, or psychosocial support by qualified professionals. A continuous project overview provides information on current initiatives, while the foundation team reviews each project proposal individually. The goal of the funding is to build sustainable structures that enable a path to a self-determined life and open up perspectives for families beyond the hospital stay.
