Description
In Tyrol, a continuously available grant funding is provided, specifically targeting adults under 60 years of age in need of care with care allowance levels 4 to 7. Since current inpatient long-term care facilities are not designed for this age group, this support enables professional care by qualified personnel directly in the home environment. The funding not only relieves the individuals requiring care but also their caregiving relatives. Financial consideration is given to household income up to 2,500 euros net (for single persons), with this limit increasing per dependent person in cases of shared living arrangements. This creates low-threshold access to specialized short-term care services and closes previously existing care gaps.
Requirements include Austrian citizenship or equivalence according to the Tyrolean Home and Care Services Act, as well as a primary residence in Tyrol. Applications must be submitted in writing prior to utilizing the service and require, among other documents, the care allowance decision, a current registration certificate, the planned duration of care, and a signed contract with the care personnel. Furthermore, no benefits under the Tyrolean Participation Act may be received, and a subsidy from the Social Ministry Service for 24-hour care (§ 21b Federal Care Allowance Act) must be in place. The extent of care needs is determined by official experts if necessary. Only expenses for professional nursing staff in the home environment are eligible for funding. The funding has been ongoing without limitation since January 1, 2022, and can be continuously applied for by private individuals in Tyrol.
