Description

The Hopp Foundation supports public and non-profit schools in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region (Baden-Württemberg, Hesse) in imparting contemporary computer science skills. Targeted projects in computer science, business informatics, robotics, as well as computer-assisted work in the natural sciences are funded. Grants are provided as project-specific subsidies, covering both technical equipment (hardware and software) and methodological-didactic support. Additionally, the foundation covers the costs for teacher training, workshops for instructors and learners, as well as the organization of competitions. Committed computer science student teachers can also be supported within the scope of their practical experience. Expenditures for printing subsidies, translations, conference travel, institutional ongoing funding, or projects outside the defined region are not eligible.

Eligible applicants are legal entities with proven non-profit status that provide educational training for children and adolescents and submit a clearly defined, time-limited project plan. Applications must be submitted via the current online calls. Required documents include the completed funding form, proof of non-profit status, and a fund utilization plan. After a positive decision, a period of up to eight weeks applies until notification, followed by coordination meetings regarding the use of funds. The procedure concludes with a usage report in the form of a factual report and verifiable original receipts. The Hopp Foundation seeks close collaboration throughout the project duration to sustainably support schools on their path to digitally supported education and to create optimal conditions for teachers and learners.
