Description

Since 2006, a foundation in rural Lower Saxony has ensured the sustainable provision of end-of-life and bereavement support at Stemweder Berg. Financial grants are provided to projects that enable compassionate care for people in need of nursing and those who are dying, as well as their relatives, on site. The funding priorities lie in hospice work, bereavement support, and accompanying palliative measures. Initiatives and projects are to be secured in the long term by promoting volunteer engagement and continuously expanding professional services. Financial support enables, for example, further training for hospice volunteers, procurement of equipment, or the organization of information and bereavement groups. All measures aim to improve the quality of life at the end of life in the region and to ensure the comprehensive accessibility of these services.

Eligible for funding are exclusively non-profit organizations, private individuals with a concrete project connection, as well as public institutions based at Stemweder Berg. There is no fixed deadline for applications, as grants are awarded continuously and applications can be submitted at any time. A prerequisite is the submission of a comprehensible project concept and the localization of all funded activities within the Stemweder Berg region. Through this open procedure, both established associations and innovative new initiatives have equal opportunities to implement their projects in hospice and bereavement work. The foundation thus makes a decisive contribution to providing the best possible support to the dying and bereaved in their home environment and to strengthening hospice work in the long term.
