Description

The funding program “Go International” of the Free State of Bavaria is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as members of the liberal professions with a business location in Bavaria who wish to specifically enter new foreign markets or expand their existing market presence abroad. With grants of up to €60,000 per project, the program focuses on the development and implementation of internationalization strategies. Eligible preparatory measures include market analyses, participation in trade fairs and exhibitions, as well as subject-specific training to efficiently facilitate entry into up to two new target countries. The continuously available funding is open to companies that meet the EU SME definition and can demonstrate activities benefiting their Bavarian business location.

Eligible expenses include, among others, marketing and advertising measures, consulting and coaching services, interpreting and translation services, certifications, as well as specific training (e.g., intercultural communication or customs law). Travel costs, hospitality, trade fair staff, investments, or ongoing operating expenses are not eligible. The grant rate depends on the location of the business: between 25% and 40%, with a maximum amount of €30,000 per target country or €20,000 for the greater Munich area. Projects may last up to 12 months; applications are submitted continuously via the Bavarian Foreign Trade Center (BIHK Service GmbH). Required for application submission are, among others, a completed application form, a detailed project description, and a cost and financing plan.
