Funding of the Josef Hurnaus Foundation

The Josef Hurnaus Foundation supports charitable initiatives of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Germany, with a focus on children and youth projects. The emphasis is on initiatives that strengthen young people in their personal development and education, as well as measures to support individuals or families in their decision for the newborn life. Furthermore, the foundation is dedicated to the preservation of historic church buildings, the construction of chapels, and the furnishing of these places as vibrant centers of faith. Another area of funding includes the pastoral training of prospective Salesians, for example at training locations such as Benediktbeuern. Only projects carried out under the sponsorship or in cooperation with the Salesians of Don Bosco within Germany are supported, with a special focus on Bavaria, although nationwide applications are equally considered.

As a grant provider, the Josef Hurnaus Foundation allows continuous submissions of applications; funding measures can be applied for at any time. Applications are open to non-profit organizations active in the fields of children and youth, buildings and monument preservation, education, work & social affairs, infrastructure & urban development, as well as vocational training & further education. The foundation emphasizes sustainable impact on site and supports projects that contribute in the long term to social participation and the strengthening of regional communities. By combining social, cultural, and religious projects, it contributes to the holistic promotion of young people and the preservation of sacred buildings in Germany.
