Funding of the Juist Foundation

Since 2006, the Juist Foundation has supported numerous projects that promote the common good on the island of Juist through its grant program. This civic initiative directs its funding to non-profit organizations and public institutions active in various fields such as education, culture, social affairs, environmental/nature conservation, climate protection, as well as research and innovation. The financing supports projects that contribute to education and upbringing, youth and elderly care, as well as cultural and artistic initiatives. Particular emphasis is placed on implementation in close cooperation with local clubs, institutions, and other organizations to sustainably strengthen regional identity and community cohesion.

The Foundation’s support is aimed at projects specifically realized on the island of Juist that serve the well-being of its residents. The initiatives may cover a broad thematic spectrum, ranging from local heritage preservation to health promotion and sports, as well as charitable and church-related purposes. In addition to supporting local clubs, the Juist Foundation also backs its own projects that pursue innovative and community-enhancing approaches. Funding is provided as a grant, with applications formally submitted via postal grant application. This procedure enables a transparent and targeted selection of projects that meet the island’s needs.

Beyond the traditional funding areas, the Juist Foundation constitutes an important pillar of regional development work and emphasizes participatory involvement of the citizenry. By facilitating funding opportunities in the fields of vocational training and continuing education, culture and media, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection, the Foundation makes a fundamental contribution to the sustainable development of the island. The continuous allocation of funds—without fixed deadlines—allows for ongoing support of projects and responsive adaptation to current challenges. The grant application serves as a central instrument for requesting subsidies, thereby helping to strengthen local initiatives in their diversity and impact.
