Funding of the Kai Havertz Foundation

The Kai Havertz Foundation continuously awards grants nationwide for projects in the areas of health, children and youth, social affairs, animal welfare, sports, labor & social issues, energy efficiency & climate protection, as well as culture & media. It particularly supports animal-assisted initiatives for children, youth, and elderly people with illness or disabilities, as well as the rescue and compassionate care of neglected animals. At the same time, the foundation promotes youth sports to inspire young athletes with the joy of movement and to strengthen their personal development. The interdisciplinary approach combines animal-assisted therapy with physical activity to create sustainable added value for all involved and to foster a sense of community.

Eligible for funding are private individuals as well as non-profit organizations that present innovative concepts to support vulnerable target groups or to integrate animals and humans. A special focus lies on inclusive projects that provide holistic support for people with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Initiatives that combine animal welfare with therapeutic use and offer neglected animals a new home are also recognized. Thanks to the continuous funding profile, applications can be submitted at any time and implemented flexibly. The financial support enables an easy entry into sustainable projects and offers committed initiators the opportunity to achieve long-term impacts in the fields of social services, health promotion, and sports development.
