Description
The Koblenz Sports Foundation supports non-profit clubs and schools in Rhineland-Palatinate that assist talented junior and elite athletes in Olympic, para-/Deaflympic, as well as non-Olympic disciplines. With differentiated grants of up to €5,000 per athlete or team, significant expenses for coaches and trainers, entry fees, travel, and accommodation costs are to be compensated. The goal is to sustainably strengthen competitive and high-performance sports in the Koblenz region and to provide optimal support for athletes with national achievements and international prospects. The project duration is 12 months each, and applications can be submitted until January 31, 2026.
Prerequisites for funding are the non-profit status of the club or school, a registered office or primary competition rights in Koblenz, as well as proof of national or international achievements. Applications must be submitted by the organization and accompanied by complete evidence of squad status or Bundesliga affiliation. Awards are granted once annually by the foundation’s board and advisory council, with sporting success as well as squad or Bundesliga status serving as decisive evaluation criteria. Eligible expenses include costs for coaches, entry fees, travel, and accommodation. Funded institutions thus contribute to the sustainable development of the regional sports landscape and create opportunities for promising talents in elite and junior competitive sports.
