Description
The funding of cultural education programs at music schools in Saxony aims to strengthen basic musical training and sustainably anchor cultural diversity in the Free State. Within the framework of a non-repayable grant, the program supports public and non-profit organizations that operate recognized music schools. By financially contributing to personnel costs for teachers as well as material costs for instruments and teaching materials, practice-oriented forms of instruction are promoted. At the same time, rental fees and ancillary costs can be covered to create attractive learning environments. The funding objective is to expand access to musical education for children, adolescents, and adults and to ensure the long-term quality of instruction.
Eligible applicants are all recognized music schools and their sponsors in the Free State of Saxony, provided they have official recognition as well as municipal or non-profit sponsorship. For the application, the forms “Appendix 1 – Application FRL Cultural Education” and “Appendix 2 – Proof of Use” are required. The evaluation is carried out by the Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism, which, as the highest state authority, coordinates and promotes Saxony’s cultural and scientific infrastructure. With this initiative, the Ministry contributes to making music education practice-oriented, enabling cultural participation, and securing a high-quality and diverse educational landscape in the field of music in the long term.
