Description

The Dresden Cultural Foundation of Commerzbank supports non-profit organizations based in Saxony in the realization of innovative cultural and educational projects in Dresden. Eligible for funding are foundations, associations, educational institutions, and cultural organizations that wish to implement initiatives in the fields of art and culture, science and research, monument protection and preservation, as well as vocational training and further education. A project worthy of funding must take place in Dresden, demonstrate a verifiable non-profit status (current tax exemption notice and statutes), and be submitted by December 15 of the respective year. The foundation awards grants once a year of up to €10,000 and places special emphasis on sustainable concepts, network building, as well as a transparent presentation of objectives and impact orientation.

For the application, an informal request, the official application form, a cost and financing plan, and a detailed project description must be submitted. The latter should, in addition to outlining the project, also include aspects such as a communication plan, scheduling, and success measurement. Currently, no funding is provided in the areas of performing arts, science, and democratic governance. The creative funding aims to strengthen Dresden’s role as a European cultural metropolis and to initiate interdisciplinary exchange between initiative groups, expert juries, and local networks. Values such as cultural diversity, innovative strength, and architectural preservation are central to the funding approach, in order to set long-term effective impulses for the cultural life of the state capital.
