Description

The funding offer in Schleswig-Holstein is aimed at full-time and part-time enterprises as well as cooperatives in cutter, coastal, and inland fisheries that wish to further develop their operations with regard to social, economic, and ecological sustainability. With funds from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF), investments can be supported in the initial acquisition of fishing vessels, modern onboard processing technology, improved hygiene, safety, and working conditions, as well as selective fishing gear and sustainable fishing methods. Furthermore, measures to increase energy efficiency, engine modernization, fisheries control systems, and projects for direct marketing of fishery products are supported. The goal is to harmonize innovative knowledge with proven practice and to strengthen long-term value chains.

A business location in Schleswig-Holstein is a prerequisite for application; fishing vessels must be registered and properly insured. The planned projects must fit within the framework of the German EMFAF program 2021–2027 and comply with a minimum five-year commitment period. Eligible for funding are durable assets, while short-lived goods, replacement acquisitions, and operating costs are excluded. Selection is based on defined EMFAF criteria, point evaluations, and available budget. Secured overall financing and reliability in accordance with trade regulations are further prerequisites. Since there is no fixed deadline, applications can be submitted at any time. The procedure is conducted digitally via the Schleswig-Holstein service portal; upon positive review, approval is granted as a subsidy. This program offers interested parties the opportunity to prepare their operations for future challenges and to grow sustainably.
