Description
The funding program of the State Foundation "Together in Hesse" supports private and voluntary initiatives in Hesse that strengthen civic engagement and promote social cohesion. The goal is to develop private solutions for pressing future issues such as demographic change or rural supply gaps, as well as to meaningfully complement state actions. Funding is provided especially for projects with a model character that are transferable and sustainable, encourage cooperation among social actors, and strengthen the positive external image of Hesse as well as Hessian identity. Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations, interest groups, community foundations, and associations based in Hesse that responsibly contribute to the common good and set important societal impulses.
A prerequisite for funding in the form of a grant (funding rate 30%–50%) is a project duration of up to 36 months as well as tax-exempt status according to §§ 52–54 AO. The project must be directly realizable within the state of Hesse, must not have started before approval, and should be able to continue without further foundation support. The application must include a brief project outline (max. 2 pages), the application form, cost and financing plan, a detailed project description, as well as proof of legal status and tax exemption from the financial authority. Selection takes place year-round based on criteria such as societal contribution, model character, sustainability, and promotion of cooperation. The State Foundation also offers eligible applicants advice on submitting preliminary inquiries and continuous contact person support.
