Description
The funding for local food supply in the state of Vorarlberg supports sustainable investment and operating cost subsidies as well as delivery services to ensure daily local supply and to strengthen city and town centers as vibrant commercial locations. As part of regional funding in the areas of agriculture & rural development, regional promotion, business financing, and consulting, the program targets small full-range food retail businesses, municipalities, development companies, and advertising associations. These must be members of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce in the committee "Retail trade with food and luxury goods," achieve an annual net turnover of up to €2.5 million, and have a sales area of a maximum of 400 m². Funding applications must be submitted before the project starts and allow for ongoing funding opportunities without time limitation.
The funding consists of investment grants (30% for movable fixed assets and structural investments, each up to a maximum of €250,000), operating cost subsidies (up to €27,500 annually), and 40% support for delivery services, which must be performed at least twice weekly and documented via a logbook. The evaluation criteria include the contribution to securing local supply, profitability, the extent of delivery services, and the municipality’s own contribution. Eligible investments include movable fixed assets, structural measures, operating costs, and delivery service costs; land and vehicle purchases are not eligible. Required documents include project descriptions, cost estimates, balance sheets, and proof of delivery trips. Disbursement is made upon submission of the final accounting and depends on available budget funds.
