Description

The Manfred Engel Foundation specifically supports regional geographic research projects in the Westphalia-Lippe area as well as in adjacent interconnected regions. Applicants from public institutions can apply for funds covering material and travel expenses, service contracts, scholarships, as well as publication and presentation subsidies. Furthermore, the foundation supports the organization of conferences and congresses and awards prizes for outstanding work in regional geographic research. Projects that advance scientific knowledge of the geography of Westphalia-Lippe and strengthen networking between municipalities, universities, and research institutions are funded.

Applications must include a precise project description as well as detailed estimates of expected costs and revenues. Applications are to be submitted by June 15 for the July funding round and by November 15 for the December funding round.
