Description

In Baden-Württemberg, a state program supports non-profit organizations, public institutions, private individuals, and companies in projects within designated nature park areas. With a grant share of 60% to 70%, investments in infrastructure, trail construction, and the protection of natural and cultural heritage are promoted. Additionally, studies on habitat and species protection as well as awareness-raising measures and educational offerings can be financed. A prerequisite for funding is that the measure takes place in rural areas according to the GAP strategy plan and has not commenced prior to approval. Funding recipients submit a project description, cost and financing plans, site and construction plans, as well as official permits.

The aim of the funding is to preserve the diversity, uniqueness, and beauty of nature, landscape, and culture, as well as to develop them as recreational areas. Municipal institutions, nature park associations, and their member municipalities are supported in planning and implementing environmentally compatible tourism projects, as are private sponsors with innovative environmental education offerings. Through the integrated development of rural areas, the program contributes to strengthening environmental awareness and promoting gentle tourism. Applications can be submitted at any time before the start of the measure; approval and disbursement are handled by the responsible department of the Forestry Directorate Freiburg.
