Description
The Opitz-Neubauer Foundation primarily supports needy or service-ill firefighters and their relatives in the Free State of Thuringia with one-time grants of up to €150 per application (funding rate up to 70%). In addition, socially disadvantaged children and adolescents in youth fire brigades benefit from financial relief on participation fees for chargeable programs. Psychosocial prevention and support measures following particularly stressful operations (e.g., emergency pastoral care) can also be funded to better cope with the consequences of deployments and to strengthen social participation.
Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, especially youth fire brigades and fire departments in Thuringia, which provide proof of membership as well as need or illness incurred in service. The application must include the completed application form, proof of need (e.g., fee exemption), and information about the respective event. Applications can be submitted at any time but must be received no later than four weeks before the desired payment date. With this funding, the foundation aims to alleviate financial bottlenecks and promote cohesion within the fire service family. Interested organizations can find the application form and further information in the funding guidelines, which are available from the Thuringian Fire Brigade Association.
