Description
The Otto-Stöterau Foundation, based in Hamburg, specifically supports emerging talent in the artistic, educational, and scientific fields of music. As a private foundation under civil law, founded in 1989, it primarily assists applicants and students at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg (HfMT). With a funding focus on culture, education and training, research & innovation, as well as culture & media, the foundation provides continuous grants for educational projects, musicological initiatives, pedagogical programs, and artistic development. The board, led by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Hochstein and the managing deputy Michael Ovel, ensures expert supervision of the funding measures, thereby sustainably promoting the development of talents in metropolitan areas such as Hamburg.
Eligible for funding are applicants and students of the HfMT who are engaged in artistic-musical, music pedagogical, or musicological training. Music-related project proposals may also be considered upon application. Applications and submission of all documents can be made at any time directly through the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg. The Otto-Stöterau Foundation grants subsidies in the form of financial contributions to support tuition fees, material costs, or research trips. The open deadline structure allows for flexible representation of funding needs and immediate implementation. The foundation places great importance on equal opportunities, professional excellence, and sustainable commitment in the cultural and media sectors.
