Description
The ROMIUS Foundation supports nationwide nonprofit project initiatives in public health and related fields such as research & innovation, development cooperation, social affairs, and the promotion of democracy. Private individuals, educational institutions, public and other nonprofit organizations may submit grant applications at any time. The aim of the funding is to strengthen the care of people in need, promote research activities, and foster intercultural understanding. Projects that pursue sustainable approaches to rural development, labor market integration, or the improvement of health structures are given special consideration. By offering an open-ended submission option, the foundation seeks to respond promptly to new challenges and support innovative proposals.
To apply, a fully completed form (PDF or online) is required, supplemented by a concise project description with a financing plan (maximum two pages). This must outline the project objectives, planned measures, estimated total costs, and the requested funding amount. Proof of nonprofit status must be attached. Upon receipt, each submission undergoes a preliminary review by an internally appointed committee; if further clarification is needed, feedback will be provided. Promising projects are awarded a one-time grant to enable efficient project implementation in the interest of social cohesion. These continuously available funds are aimed particularly at Roche employees as well as other initiatives that wish to contribute sustainably to public health and solidarity-based development.
