Funding of the Rose-Marie and Bernhard Metscherling Foundation

The Rose-Marie and Bernhard Metscherling Foundation has been committed since 2017 to the sustainable promotion of sports, education, and welfare in Schleswig-Holstein, with a special focus on Albersdorf and the Dithmarschen district. As a non-profit initiative, it primarily supports projects that holistically empower children and youth through cooperation with sports clubs, daycare centers, and schools. In addition to traditional sports offerings, language and music promotion are central areas of action aimed at improving early childhood development processes and creating equal opportunities within educational and social structures. Decision-making is always conducted in dialogue with local initiatives to accurately identify needs and implement tailored funding approaches.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, public institutions, as well as interest groups or associations headquartered or active in Schleswig-Holstein. Applications from sports clubs, kindergartens, schools, and other social service providers whose projects have a clear focus on child and youth development are particularly welcome. The foundation grants subsidies within the framework of ongoing funding opportunities, placing emphasis on alignment with the foundation’s statutory purpose, a well-founded needs assessment, and a dialogical development process. Applications can be submitted at any time, allowing spontaneous project ideas as well as long-term funding plans to be considered.
