Description

The Rudolf-August Oetker Foundation supports nonprofit institutions and organizations nationwide in the fields of culture, monument preservation, science, and education. For over 25 years, projects in monument conservation, restoration, acquisitions of art and cultural assets, exhibitions, and publications have been funded. In addition, university research projects, cultural-scientific inventories, and education-related initiatives receive financial support. With a focus on sustainability, cultural relevance, and professional expertise, the foundation aims to preserve cultural heritage and strengthen democratic civil society in Germany. The continuous funding approach allows applications to be submitted digitally at any time without fixed deadlines. Decisions are usually made by the board of trustees three times a year.

Eligible for funding are exclusively nonprofit associations, foundations, and public institutions, including museums and research institutions. Required documents include a cover letter, a detailed project description (PDF), a cost and financing plan, a schedule, and, if applicable, supplementary documentation such as expert reports or image material. Conferences are not funded. The evaluation criteria include the sustainability of the project, its cultural significance, as well as the quality of the concept and the professional competence of the applicants. A decision is expected within six months from the digital submission of the application. The Rudolf-August Oetker Foundation thus makes a sustainable contribution to promoting a diverse and vibrant cultural landscape in Germany.
