A focus lies on nutrition education and integrative medicine, as well as on German-Polish cultural exchange and self-help assistance for people in need. Initiatives whose statutory purpose aligns with the foundation’s objectives are funded. The foundation continuously reviews incoming applications for alignment with its goals, the quality and benefit of the projects, as well as the cost planning’s economic efficiency. Particular emphasis is placed on inclusive and sustainable added value for society and democracy.
Eligible for funding are associations, nonprofit limited liability companies (gGmbHs), schools, universities, and other nonprofit or public-law entities. Applications must be submitted at least three months before the project start date using the standardized form; a current tax exemption certificate must be attached. Personnel costs, material costs, travel expenses, and ancillary costs/overheads (max. 10%) are eligible for funding. Operating equipment, construction projects, and retroactive costs are excluded. After thorough review, applicants receive an approval letter with funding guidelines and a form for the proof of use. Funds can be drawn upon after informal request; a final report and proof of use must be submitted three months after project completion.
