Description

The promotion of school social work as well as socially-oriented school social workPlus in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is aimed at districts and independent cities as providers of public youth welfare services. Within the framework of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), grants are provided for personnel costs: a flat rate of €2,685.88 per full-time position is granted monthly (collective agreement for the public service of the federal states in social and educational services), which will increase annually by 2.4% starting January 2024. The funds are 100% co-financed and cover personnel expenses exclusively. Applications can be submitted continuously within the ESF funding period 2021–2027 to the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LAGuS); eligible project start is possible from November 1, 2023.

The program aims to strengthen the individual and social development of pupils, reduce social disadvantages, and promote employability and the transition from school to vocational training. A prerequisite for funding is the deployment of qualified professionals for at least 15 hours per week in the project as well as the provision of own funds equivalent to the requested ESF+ funds. Socially-oriented school social workPlus further expands cooperation with local stakeholders and supports participatory approaches to tapping into extracurricular support potentials. Thus, the measure makes an important contribution to equitable educational opportunities and sustainable local networking.
