Description

The Schwalbe Foundation gGmbH supports initiatives nationwide with its funding line "Mobility Equity" that enable equal and sustainable access to mobility. Funded are projects oriented towards the common good in the areas of Smart Cities & Regions as well as digitalization, which dismantle barriers in the transport system and thus contribute to a socially just mobility transition. Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations, companies, start-ups, public institutions, and private individuals with projects in Germany. Funding is provided in the form of grants and can be applied for at any time. A prerequisite for approval is proof of a common good-oriented objective, a project-related contribution to mobility equity, and a registered office or project location in Germany.

In particular, projects targeting vulnerably defined groups – including children and youth, people with refugee and migration backgrounds, residents of rural regions, as well as individuals with low income or limited access to transport – benefit from financial support. Funded are, for example, research work, educational offers, awareness-raising measures, and concrete mobility services to strengthen sustainable mobility, accessibility, and participation for all population groups. With this continuously available grant funding, the Foundation makes an important contribution to ensuring that mobility is no longer a matter of social privilege but becomes a lived reality for everyone.
