Description
The state of Carinthia annually provides subsidies within the framework of the Carinthian Senior Citizens Act to support senior organizations operating throughout the state in advising, informing, and caring for older people. The objective is to strengthen the social infrastructure and ensure needs-based support for seniors in all areas of life. The funding helps to implement free or low-cost services, provide expert knowledge, and create low-threshold access points. Organizations wishing to apply for this funding must submit their application by March 31 of each year at the latest to the Office of the Carinthian State Government, Department of Society and Integration. The disbursement is made as an annual lump sum, enabling reliable planning and implementation of program content.
Only non-profit, voluntary senior associations with legal personality and demonstrable statewide significance are eligible for funding. A statutory focus on representing and promoting the social, cultural, and economic interests of seniors, operation on a non-profit basis, and a registered office in Carinthia are prerequisites. According to their statutes, the organization must cover the entire federal state, maintain branches in at least three political districts, and have a membership of at least 3,000 seniors. Political parties within the meaning of the Political Parties Act are excluded. Meeting these requirements not only secures access to financial support but also makes an important contribution to networking regional services and strengthening the social participation of older people.
