Description

The non-profit Dialogues & Encounters Foundation is committed nationwide to supporting discrimination-critical projects and scientific initiatives that combat racism, ethnic or religious exclusion. Initiatives and institutions from the fields of education, social cohesion/democracy, development cooperation, as well as programs for children and youth, are funded. The focus is on strengthening tolerance and the ability to engage in dialogue, especially among young people from crisis regions or socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Research projects related to peace and activities promoting international understanding are supported, as are workshops for intercultural learning.

The foundation grants subsidies for material costs and personnel costs of non-profit organizations. A prerequisite is a clearly defined project that corresponds to the statutory purpose, as well as proof of non-profit status. To apply, a completed application form, exemption notice, statutes, a project description with a timeline, and a cost and financing plan must be submitted. An informal application deadline allows for ongoing submissions. After a positive review by the board, written approval is granted. This funding makes an effective contribution to reducing prejudices and fostering intercultural coexistence by specifically strengthening civil society engagement and initiating sustainable encounter formats.
