The foundation funds projects in the areas of social affairs, vocational and further education, counseling, as well as employment and business financing. Both private applicants and non-profit organizations in the regional area are eligible for funding. Ongoing application submission allows for flexible planning and implementation of individual measures.

The focus of the funding lies on five key objectives: First, financial relief for people with disabilities; second, strengthening their social integration; third, assistance with the placement in school-based and extracurricular vocational and further education. Fourth, the SfB offers comprehensive counseling in medical-therapeutic, socio-pedagogical, and social aspects for affected individuals and their relatives. Fifth, it supports non-profit associations committed to inclusive projects. A prerequisite for application is proof of disability as well as economic need.
